Horticulture NZ Stress Need For Streamlined Agricultural Approvals

Horticulture NZ is welcoming the announcement that the Ministry for Regulation is set to review the complex approval process for new agricultural and horticultural products under the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and NZ Food Safety.

Manager of Strategy and Policy at Horticulture NZ Michelle Sands delves into the pressing need for a revamp of New Zealand's convoluted approval process for agricultural and horticultural products, highlighting the delays and inefficiencies within the EPA which are hindering the timely introduction of vital crop protection products.

She also touches on a promising new project submitted to the newly established Ministry for Regulation.
