Marlborough Farmer's Eye-Opening Asia Trip From Lambing To Market Insights

Marlborough farmer Richard Dawkins has spent a couple of weeks in the sheep meat and beef markets of Asia on their Silver Fern Farms Supplier Tour.

He talks to Dom about his experience which took him through bustling markets in China and South Korea, where he observed the high demand for offal and tripe—products often considered waste in New Zealand but fetching premium prices overseas.

He also highlights the challenges of differentiating New Zealand lamb from cheaper Australian counterparts and shares his amazement at the prevalence of electric vehicles and capitalistic energy in tier-one cities.
